It sounds too good to be true - a professional web designer giving away his work for free. However, that’s exactly what Mathew Browne, founder of UK web design and SEO specialist MB Web Design is doing. As well as giving away free web site templates, Mathew is also providing free Wordpress templates.

“It may sound a little counter-intuitive at first, but it actually makes perfect sense” said Mathew.

“I’ve seen a million Wordpress websites with the same generic template, and it get’s a little boring. Typically, bloggers are blogging for the fun of it, not as a commercial effort. Therefore, they’re not looking to pay for professionally-designed templates, because their blogs aren’t a money maker for them. By giving away Wordpress templates for free, I’m showcasing my work on blogs across the world and Wordpress bloggers are getting a professionally-designed template for their site.”

“Obviously, I’m a web designer and SEO specialist by profession, so my time to maintain the templates and respond to user queries is limited. I don’t ask for any money for the templates, I don’t even have one of those ‘click here to donate’ buttons on my site. All I ask is that users keep the link back to my website at the bottom of their pages.”
